If this year is on trend from last years’ Canada Day, then 250, 000 plus people are expected to join festivities downtown. There are a range of events planned from Fort Calgary to Prince’s Island Park. Studio Bell, the home of the new National Music Centre, also opens on Friday. Admission is free, and their staff will be conducting tours of this new architectural marvel.
Music synchronized fireworks are set to begin at 11pm from the Centre Street Bridge. Tune into 101.5 Kool FM and Wild 95.3 FM to catch all the action. In anticipation to the firework setup road closures will begin at 6pm, therefore the biking or walking will be the best travel method to view the fireworks.
The fun begins at 10am on Friday. Check out www.calgary.ca/canadaday for more event details and road closures.
